Greece! I miss you. You have my heart.
This summer I was able to visit Greece for the first time, part for a conference and part fun-ness. Feeling blessed to have caught some much needed sunshine, delicious food, and good vibes before the fall weather rolled into Amsterdam.
The course was on the small island to the west, Spetses. Its position makes it a bit out of the tourist radar and leaves the island open for mostly Greek travelers seeking ultimate relaxation. After the course, I met up with Hubby to visit three other islands: Paros, Naxos, and Santorini.
So what about eating vegan? I think it could be possible…Greek food is heavy on the veg. As for me, I stayed pretty close for the first week, yet slowly gave into the fresh feta, seafood, and yogurts. Eat how you feel, right? If limiting yourself doesn’t feel right, why do it? I feel healthiest (in Amsterdam) eating a vegan diet with little bread or processed foods, but it just feels right in Greece to have a plate of freshly grilled squid with greek salad and LOTS of olive oil. I’m not sorry.
Pictures speak loader than words. Planning to go back as soon as possible. Who wants to join me?
